There Will Be Bleed

If you’ve ever been to a Crop before, then you’re likely familiar with our live print series, There Will Be Bleed. If not, you’re in for a treat! Every Crop experience has had an exclusive commemorative print for that particular event. Industry Print Shop will be leading us through the 9th installment of our print series. All General Admission attendees will be able to participate in this portion of our programming and will receive a commemorative print.

Crop Workshops are a great opportunity to learn new skills or level up existing skills from some of the top creatives in the game. Check out our workshops below!

How to create endless logo ideas with Made by James

  • This workshop is going focus heavily on the process of idea creation within logo design. We are in the game of idea creation and telling stories through the visuals that we generate. This workshop will give you all the tools you need to create timeless, unique and impactful logos that pack a punch and tell a story. To do our job successfully we need direction, so in this workshop I will detail how I get a brief from my clients, the process of how I break down that brief to find my ideas, then how I turn those ideas into fully functioning conversation starters for my clients… it's gonna be a logo doozy.

Note: You must be registered for General Admission to add-on this workshop.

  • Registered workshop attendees should bring sketchbooks (or iPad), pencils/pens/markers, and laptops

Crafting Analog Collage Portraits withTemi Coker

  • In this workshop we will be using our hands to create a collage of portraits. We will be creating these collages using things like paper, photographs, play-doh, magazines and a variety of other things. The idea is to unplug and get back to creating with our hands and our imaginations. Let's go back to the basics.

Note: You must be registered for General Admission to add-on this workshop.

  • Registered workshop attendees should bring sketchbooks (or iPad) for layout ideas and note taking. Additionally, attendees will need to provide a headshot (could be of yourself or someone else) for the focal point of the collage portrait.

Intro to Brush Lettering for Sign Painting with Goodsnake

  • Join your favorite sassy C-list lettering celebrities Good Snake for yet another delightful dive into the wonderful world of modern sign painting. This workshop will be taught by Good Snake's resident second-generation sign painter Kayla Fritz, with practical and comedic support from Good Snake co-founder Hannah Epelbaum of Nashville's McCoy Design! Participants will learn to letter Gothic and Casual styles, and broaden their creative horizons with a seasoned sign painter's insight into proper letter construction, analog design techniques, brush care, and other hot tips! No experience required, we're all friends here! We'll be using water-based poster paints, so do come prepared to get a little messy! You'll leave with your very own water-based lettering quill, workbook, posters, access to printable downloads, and other treats to add to your creative toolkit. Need tips later? We even have a casual Facebook group Lettering Friends, where fellow lettering enthusiasts can support and motivate each other from afar.

Note: You must be registered for General Admission to add-on this workshop.

  • Make your own mahlstick in advance to bring (DIY VIDEO HERE) It's not necessary but it is helpful! Blank paper and pencils for note taking
